Alexander McQueen,  Drafted from a background in Savile Row tailoring, his technical skill took him to Romeo Gigli in Milan and on to a five year tenure at Givenchy until 2001. His mainline launched to critical acclaim and was followed by the more youthful denim based line McQ Alexander McQueen in 2006. His death in February of this year, just three weeks before Paris Week, was a shock to the fashion industry. His talent will be sorely missed
